Verona Budget Workshop, Cedar Grove BOE meets in the Week Ahead

The Verona Township Council will begin its yearly budget workshop on Monday, Feb 15. The workshop will begin at 7 p.m. at the Verona Civic Center Municipal Chambers.

During the last public meeting, members of the Verona Council could not reach an agreement whether the workshops, which are open to the public, should be televised on local cable access. The workshop will proceed on Monday but will not be televised.

The Cedar Grove Board of Education meets for a regularly scheduled public meeting on Tuesday, Feb. 26 at 8 p.m. at North End School. A meeting agenda is attached, but at the last meeting, the board began discussions about athletic field scheduling after a member of the public brought some concerns.

Thursday's Verona Planning Board has been canceled according to the Verona municipal calendar.

Brookdale Avenue School in Verona will be celebrating "Spirit Week" from Monday to Friday to raise money for the New Jersey leukemia and lymphoma society. The week will include events like Hat Day, Crazy Hair Day, Verona Spirit Day and Pajama Day to coincide with Read Across America Day.

On Saturday, March 2, Cedar Grove parents will be hosting a fundraising event for the American Cancer Society at Snapology of Northern New Jersey in Little Falls with building activities for children from 12 to 6 p.m.
