Verona BOE, Council Meet in Joint Session Tonight

Busy week of meetings, events for Verona and Cedar Grove.

After a week off for Memorial Day, both Verona and Cedar Grove have busy weeks with a lot of meetings and events. 

Tonight, the week kicks off with a joint meeting of Verona's Township Council and Board of Education at 7 p.m in the Verona Community Center, 880 Bloomfield Ave. Please see the attached agendas for more information.

The Cedar Grove Township Council is also scheduled to meet tonight at 7 p.m. in the municipal building. Check out the attached PDF for more information.

On Tuesday night, the Cedar Grove Board of Education is set to meet at 8 p.m. in the North End School Media Center. Agenda is attached as PDF.

The town's Planning Board is also scheduled to meet at 8 p.m. in the municipal building. Check out the PDF attached for agenda.

Monday  1:30 p.m.
Come to the library on Monday and celebrate the Queen Diamond's Jubilee with a Tea Party, Tea Tasting, and Film. The party and tasting are co-sponsored by the Cedar Grove Free Public Library and the Fine Grind Coffee Bar.   A 3 p.m, showing of The Iron Lady, starring Meryl Streep, will follow the tea party and tea tasting.

CG Library hosts a Knitting Club.  All are welcome.

Join Beth Sandweiss and Connie Pifher for a discussion on the emotional, physical and spiritual possibilities and challenges for mature women 55+.  Refreshments for the tea will be provided by Hobcaw Cafe.


Our Lady of the Lake Catholic School, 26 Lakeside Ave., Verona
Tuesday 9:30 a.m.
Time for Tots is an informal group of Moms and Dads who get together while our children play. Time for Tots allows your children to get out of the house and play with other children, while giving you some much needed "adult time."  No sign-up or $ involved.

Tuesday 1 p.m.
Connect with other caregivers.  Learn about local resources. Discuss strategies to care for your loved one and yourself. Gain practical advice, friendship and support.  Call 973-830-0096 to register and feel free to bring your lunch.

Tuesday  1 p.m.
Come in and join the Bridge Club as they play bridge and teach new players the rules.

Tuesdays  7 p.m. & Wednesdays  9:30 a.m.
An introduction class for those with little or no computer experience. Topics covered: Beginning E-mail, Register for a free e-mail account, Microsoft Word and master the basics of typing and formatting a document. Topics vary each week based on individual need. Class size is limited, so please call or stop by to sign up or call (973) 857-4848.

Join a lively group of walkers on THURSDAYS from 10 a.m.-11 a.m. in the VCC gym for exercise and walking. New members welcome.
