H.B. Whitehorne Student Wins Spelling Bee
Jessica Sidrak, 10 of H.B. Whitehorne Middle School won the Verona Spelling Bee with the word "territory."
Jessica Sidrak, 10 of H.B. Whitehorne Middle School expertly spelled "territory" to win the Verona Spelling Bee, sponsored by the Junior Women's Club of Verona.
Seventy-four students from Brookdale Avenue School, F.N. Brown School, Forest Avenue Elementary School, Laning Avenue School andOur Lady of the Lake School participated in the competition.
Max Handler, 10 of H.B. Whitehorne came in second place and Veronica Eomyslawski, 10 of Our Lady of the Lake School came in third.

The judges were Verona Deputy Mayor Bob Manley, Senior Librarian Bill Trafton, and Forest Ave. Principal Jeffrey Monacelli, who has participated as a Spelling Bee judge for the past five years.
