Essex County College will host its annual Spring Career Fair on Friday, April 11, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on its main campus at 303 University Avenue in Newark.
The event will be held in the College’s Gymnasium.
The career fair is sponsored by a federal Carl D. Perkins grant. It is also being held in partnership with ECC’s Office of Student Development & Counseling, and Training, Inc., along with the office of Newark Mayor Luis Quintana, the Newark City Council and Newark Works Career One Stop Center.
“Essex County College has a long-standing tradition of providing workforce development opportunities for the residents of Newark and Essex County. At our combined career fairs last year, we welcomed close to 2,000 attendees who met with over 100 employers in our region. There were attendees who were interviewed and hired on the spot,” said ECC President Gale E. Gibson. “We are enthusiastic about our new partnership with the City of Newark so that we can expand our outreach even farther into the communities and assist even more residents with finding jobs.”
“I commend Newark Works and Essex County College for partnering on this important event,” said Mayor Quintana.
Employers expected to attend the career fair will represent such areas as information technology, health/nursing/EMT, manufacturing, transportation and construction trade apprenticeships.
