The Cedar Grove Free Public Library will be exhibiting the artwork of Frances Hall, a local artist and long-time resident of Cedar Grove.

An art major in college, Mrs. Hall has been practicing her craft for over 40 years. Working in opaque watercolors, the exhibit will feature 13 pieces painted between 2002 and 2011.

Hall chooses cottages, castles and churches as the center of attention in many of her paintings. She finds pictures in books, such as the Neuschwanstein Castle in Munich, Germany – which she has used a few times as a focal point – and creates the rest of her composition from imagination.

In her award-winning painting, "Beyond the Bridge," a wooden bridge is the center of attention, surrounded by trees, a lake and mountains in the distance.

The artwork will be on exhibit from Thursday, May 24 through July 24.
