Snow-Colored Deer Continues to Appear Near Hilltop Reservation

Have you seen this little deer prancing through your Verona or Cedar Grove yard?

The white deer of the Caldwells keeps popping up.

Matthew Wesolowski snapped a few photos of the white deer in his neighborhood on Hillside Avenue during the weekend. His photos appeared similar to those the Grasso family took in September (click here to see the photos).

On Monday, John and Lori Sernio submitted more photos of the deer with the snowy-white coat meandering through their backyard on Ferndale Road in North Caldwell.

The young deer with the white and brown-dappled fur appears to be a white-tailed deer.

Ferndale Road and Hillside Avenue are located behind the Grover Cleveland Birthplace and near Hilltop Park on Mountain Avenue.

John Sernio said the small chalky-colored deer appears to be part of a herd of three other brown-colored white-tailed deer. The Sernios first noticed the unique deer during the summer when he was just a baby that could barely walk.

The Sernios continue to spot the herd almost daily as the four deer visit the creek behind their home.
