The Weekender: What's Happening in Verona, Cedar Grove

7th Annual Lemon-Aid Stand Sunday to benefit Cedar Grove Ambulance and Rescue Squad.

WHAT: Summer Reading Finale

WHY GO: Join The Green Golly Project as they perform their show "Last Night I Dreamt I Ate a Giant Marshmallow and When I Woke Up My Pillow Was Gone!" to close out the Summer Reading Program. The winners of the Summer Reading Giveaways will be announced. Registration required.

WHY GO: Cedar Grove Library hosts a Knitting Club. All are welcome.

WHAT: Scrapbooking at the Cedar Grove Library
WHERE: Cedar Grove Public Library, 1 Municipal Plaza, Cedar Grove
WHEN: Monday 6:30 p.m.
WHY GO: Come in and participate in this scrapbooking demonstration, as instructor Constance Seugling instructs members of the public on how to make a beautiful scrap book to store memories forever. Register at the library or email: thampi-lukose@palsplus.org.
ALSO: Those who register must bring their own materials, including a scrapbook, papers, double-sided tape, scissors, glue, pictures, etc.

WHAT: WHERE: , 597 Pompton Ave, Cedar Grove
Sunday, Aug. 19, 9 a.m.
WHY GO: Gabby San Roman was just 11 years old, she read an article in the newspaper about the lack of funding for the Cedar Grove Ambulance and Rescue Squad. She took it upon herself to hold a “Lemon-Aid Stand” in front of Foodtown with some of her friends.  Over six summers, the event has grown tremendously and she has raised almost $7,000 for this worthy organization. If you would like to make a donation beforehand or have any questions, please contact Grace San Roman at (973) 857–3132.


Verona Yoga and Wellness Center546 Bloomfield Ave., Verona
Sunday 7 to 8 p.m.
The idea is to relax, let go and restore. The room is dark and candle lit, music is soft and relaxing. You have a full hour of relaxation postures with the help of props, blocks, blankets and pillows to make you comfortable while you open your hips, chest, shoulders and your mind. This class is free but we will accept donations each month for a different worthy cause.

WHERE: The First Presbyterian Church of Verona, 10 Fairview Ave., Verona.
WHEN: Sunday, Aug. 19, 10:15 a.m.
WHY GO: Join us every Sunday prayer, music and fellowship. Childcare is available. Children are with their parents during the service until the Children's Message then they are invited to go to Sunday School. They meet back with their parents at Coffee Hour. ALL Children are invited to Sunday School.
