Verona Pool Party, Shred It at Temple Sholom

What's going on in Verona-Cedar Grove for Wednesday.

Patch has put together some things you need to know for Wednesday.

Verona residents are invited to the pool Wednesday for a free concert by an Island Party band. There will also be an ice cream social at the pool Friday night at 7 p.m.

Bella Gente in Verona will host Dine for Angelina, a fundraiser for a local girl undergoing cancer treatment. The cabaret will feature the restaurant's talented waitstaff, singing waiter Jaden Jackson and former Disney performer Victoria Meade.

Time is running out to catch a New Jersey Jackals game this summer. The Jackals are home Wednesday and Thursday this week for a three-game series against the Quebec Nationales. The Youth Baseball/Softball Coach of the Year will be named Wednesday.

Dispose of personal, financial papers safely. Temple Sholom of West Essex in Cedar Grove will host its monthly "Shred It" starting at 9 a.m.  Call the Temple office at 973-239-1321 to arrange a drop off. Charge is $10.00 per box.

The Cedar Grove Police Department is participating in the “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over 2013 Labor Day Statewide Crackdown," according to a release from Chief Richard Vanderstreet. The campaign runs through Labor Day, Monday, Sept. 2.
