Special Election, Shred-It Event, Pumpkin Decorating Contest

What's happening in Verona and Cedar Grove on Wednesday.

Patch has put together some things you need to know for Wednesday.

The special election between Newark Mayor Cory Booker and Republican Steve Lonegan to succeed the late Sen. Frank Lautenberg is Wednesday. Polling places will be open from 6 a.m. until 8 p.m. Confused about where to vote? New Jersey residents can check directly and easily on the state's Division of Elections website

Need to safely dispose of important documents? Temple Sholom of West Essex will hold its monthly Shred It event starting at 9 a.m. in Cedar Grove.

The Cedar Grove Public Library is holding a pumpkin decorating contest. Create your favorite book character using a pumpkin (not carved or hallowed out). See details here. Entries will be judged by the community.
