Cedar Grove Historical Society to Hold Annual Pumpkin/Apple Sale

The Cedar Grove Historical Society will hold its annual Pumpkin/Apple Sale from October 6 through October 14.  The market will be open weekdays from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. and weekends from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.  Pumpkins of all sizes and many varieties of apples will be available.  Eggplant and tomatoes grown on Morgan’s Farm will also be on sale.  Visitors will be able to cut and purchase herbs that were grown in the garden behind the Morgan Museum.  Corn stalks, bales of hay, Cedar Grove birdhouses, firewood and Cedar Grove, by Trustee Phil Jaeger will also be on sale.   Baked goods will be available on the weekends.  All proceeds from the sale will go to help the society continue its work of preserving the history of Cedar Grove and to help with the upkeep and continued improvement of the Morgan Museum

Several exciting additions to this annual event will make the weekends more exciting this year.  Cristina Havens, the former owner of the Dragonfly Studio, will have an art exhibit in the upper room of the barn. The Grand Opening of the exhibit will be on October 6. The artwork, done by members of Ms. Havens’ Art Club, depict fall scenes and scenes around Morgan’s Farm.  Some of the artwork will be for sale.  Ms. Havens will also have volunteers on the weekends to paint pumpkins that have been purchased at the farm.  Community organizations have been invited to display information about their groups.  A few groups have accepted our invitation and will not only have information, but some will have items for sale.  The Morgan Museum will be open for tours during the weekend hours.  For over twenty years the Cedar Grove Education Association has been supporting the historical society by volunteering to work at the sale.  Teachers from our schools will be working at the sale on October 6 and 7.
