Been to Newark lately? Would you set up your business there and hire the kids on the street? I didn't think so. Change starts with communication. At least Cory does that. You'd be hard-pressed to find any other politician that does. Newark needs real solutions not outsiders raising their noses and passing the buck.   more ›

Decrease in Voter Turnout Mirrors Statewide Trend

Verona, Cedar Grove show a decrease in voter turnout from 2008 to 2012.

As a result, many residents were displaced causing a number of issues with electronic ballots, including deadline extensions. The towns are not alone in the decrease in voters and New Jersey may have hit a record-low voter turnout, according to a report by NJ.com On Tuesday, 6,827 Verona voters went to the polls, out of 10,394 registered voters in the township. This means that 65.7 percent of the eligible voters actually cast their votes …

Christie: I Did Not Embrace Obama

'I'm a guy who tells the truth all the time and if the President of the United States did a good job, I’m going to say he did a good job.'

A day after President Barack Obama earned reelection, Governor Chris Christie dismissed critics who have accused him of bolstering the president during Obama's post-Sandy visit to New Jersey. “I wouldn't call what I did an embrace of Barack Obama," Christie said. "I'm a guy who tells the truth all the time and if the President of the United States did a good job, I’m going to say he did a good job." Speaking to reporters as Winter Storm Athena prepared to batter the already storm-shocked state, Christie was also quick to dismiss speculation of a 2016 presidential run, saying that the life and death issues inherent with back-to-back storms have made politics a minor focus for now. “I've got a job to do in New Jersey. My future, whatever it …

I do have small children and I was hoping it would pass. I get that adding this might have imposed on the school budget a little bit. I wish somehow we could find a solution so that it wouldn't. It would have me very proud to say that my children have gone to school in Verona from Kindergarten all the way through High School. It is already a great town to live in, this would have just made it the…   more ›
