Horror fans have waited since 1981 to see a remake of the cult classic, "Evil Dead," premiering today. The movie tells the story of five 20-something friends holed up in a remote cabin who discover a Book of the Dead. Without their knowledge, they unwittingly summon up dormant demons living in the nearby woods, which possess the youngsters in succession until only one is left intact to fight for survival. In the sci-fi love story, "The Host," starring Dianne Kruger, humans become hosts for unseen invaders with their minds being taken over while their bodies remain intact. Most of humanity has succumbed. When Melanie (Kruger), one of the few remaining 'wild' humans, is captured, she is certain it is her end. But Melanie refuses to relinquish her body or mind and uses the invader to help her find the man she loves. Bruce Willis, Channing Tatum and The Rock star in the action-packed sequel, "GI Joe: Retaliation." This time, the G.I. Joes are not only fighting Cobra, they are forced to contend with threats from within the government.

Report says comedian/actor lands TVLand pilot for new series in addition to daily Los Angeles midday sports radio job.

Comedian/actor Jay Mohr, who was born in Verona, has been quite busy lately. He recently appeared in the latest Steve Carell comedy “The Incredible Burt Wonderstone.” Now there’s news of a TVLand pilot in the works, according to a Deadline.com report. This comes on the heels of Mohr landing a gig as a midday sports radio host on Premiere Sports and AM570 Fox Sports LA, a job he’s held since early January.

Colin Farrell stars in this week's premiere of "Dead Man Down," as a professional killer and the right hand man to an underground crime lord in New York City who is seduced and blackmailed by Beatrice (Noomi Rapace), a crime victim seeking retribution. Also premiering this week is the Disney fantasy adventure, "Oz The Great and Powerful," starring James Franco as a small-time circus magician with dubious ethics who is hurled away from dusty Kansas to the Land of Oz. He thinks he's hit the jackpot of fame and fortune that are his for the taking - until he meets three witches, Theodora (Mila Kunis), Evanora (Rachel Weisz) and Glinda (Michelle Williams), who are not convinced he is the great wizard everyone's been expecting.
