Win SOPAC Tickets For Two Holiday Shows
Sign up for the Patch newsletter and email your name to win two pairs of free tickets to see a live staging of a 1940s-style radio performance of "It's a Wonderful Life" and two pairs of free tickets to "The Juilliard Jazz Ensemble Featuring Carla Cook."
Thanksgiving 2012 is history, as are Black Friday, Small Business Saturday and Cyber Monday. Now, the holiday season is here.
Everybody has his or her favorite holiday song, favorite holiday movie or favorite holiday show.
To help you get in the holiday spirit, Patch and the South Orange Performing Arts Center (SOPAC) are offering Patch readers a chance to enjoy two holiday classics for free.
We’re teaming up with SOPAC, located at 1 Trenchard Place in South Orange, and giving away two pairs of tickets to the winner’s choice of the 2 p.m. matinee or the 8 p.m. evening performance of “It’s a Wonderful Life: A Live Radio Play” at SOPAC on Saturday, Dec. 8. Winners must specify which show is their preference in their entry.
Presented by Midtown Direct Rep, the performance showcases a 1940s live radio broadcast of the holiday classic featuring actor Malachy McCourt in front of a live studio audience. Five actors perform the dozens of characters in the radio play as well as producing the show’s sound effects.
But we’re not done yet.
We’re in such good holiday spirit here at Patch, we’re also giving away two pairs of tickets to the 3 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 9 performance of “The Juilliard Jazz Ensemble Featuring Carla Cook.”
That’s right. Grammy-nominated jazz singer Carla Cook and The Juilliard Jazz Ensemble, featuring young Juilliard artists performing pieces with their own inventive spin on holiday classics and favorites, return to SOPAC for their popular holiday concert.
To enter to win one of Patch's pairs of free tickets, first sign up for the Patch newsletter, then email Essex County Associate Regional Editor Jack Durschlag at firstname.lastname@example.org with your contact information, including a daytime and night time phone number, name and email address. All entries must be received by 3 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 6. Entries for the "Wonderful Life" performance MUST specify the matinee or evening performance in their emails.
Winners will be notified individually and may pick up their tickets at the box office Saturday prior to the show. Click here for complete Official Rules.
If you don’t win our free tickets, you may still purchase tickets at the SOPAC box office. Tickets for Saturday’s “It’s a Wonderful Life: A Live Radio Play” are $20 and $30, while tickets for the Juilliard concert are $20.
