What's Open, Closed for Labor Day
As summer winds down, holiday marks the the traditional end to warm weather, outdoor activity.
Labor Day tomorrow marks the traditional end to summer.
It’s the time when the nation prepares for fall with last barbecues, last trips to the Shore, prepares for the closing of town pools and the beginning of school.
What’s open, what’s closed today? Here’s a quick list:
◆ Municipal offices in both Verona and Cedar Grove will be closed for the holiday.
◆ Post offices, schools and school board offices.
◆ The Verona Community Center will be closed as well as public libraries in both towns.
◆ Libraries will begin their regular hours after Labor Day.
◆ Monday is also your last chance of the season to take a refreshing dip in the township pools. The Cedar Grove pool will be open from 10 a.m. until 8 p.m. Verona pool will be open from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.
◆ Banks have the option to remain open or closed so check with your local bank for holiday hours.
◆ NJ Transit Trains will operate on a Sunday schedule as well as most NJ Transit buses.
◆ Supermarkets are open although some are operating under special hours. Super Foodtown, 597 Pompton Ave. in Cedar Grove, will be operating under normal hours, 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. Kings Supermarket on 265 Pompton Ave. in Verona will be opening at 7 a.m. and closing at 10 p.m.
◆ AMC Loews Theatre on 67 Willowbrook Boulevard in Wayne will also be open if you want to escape the heat and catch a flick during your Labor Day Holiday.
