The thought of summertime brings a few things immediately to mind: warm weather, no school and Farmer's Markets.

Yes, it is time again for farm picked fruits and veggies, fresh baked goods, crisp pickles, sweet honey and much more.

Cedar Grove Farmers Market

Variety of fresh fruits and vegetables, breads, cheeses, baked goods and desserts, pickles, fresh bread, Italian specialties and European specialties.  

Bloomfield Farmers Market
Bloomfield Ave at State & Liberty streets, Bloomfield   
Thursdays, 1 p.m.-7 p.m. July 5-Oct. 25
This market has an assortment of organic food, fruits, crafts, vegetables and local specialties. 

Caldwell Farmers Market
Municipal lot between Smull and Personette (behind the Caldwell Cinema),
Fridays, Noon to 6 p.m., beginning June 29.
The market is a seasonal open air market featuring Jersey fresh produce in season as well as specialty vendors offering farm raised meats, locally produced cheeses, pies, breads and other fresh baked goods, gourmet nuts, olive oils, freshly made pastas, and prepared foods.     

East Orange Farmers Market
Halsted Street & Central Avenue (Behind Autozone), East Orange
Tuesdays, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.  
Variety of fruits and vegetables.   

Livingston Farmers Market
The Village at Livingston, 277 Eisenhower Ave., Livingston
Thursdays, Noon to 6 p.m. 
This is a seasonal open air market featuring fresh produce, plants and flowers, frozen meats and poultry, sauces and dips, gourmet pasta and cheeses, pickles, baked goods, jewelry and more.   

Maplewood Farmers Market
Springfield Ave at 160 Indiana St., Maplewood
Mondays, 2 to 7 p.m. June to October   
This is a seasonal open air market featuring local produce.

Millburn Farmers Market
Main & Essex Street, Municipal Parking Lot #1 (behind Town Hall)
Tuesdays, 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. June 8 through Oct. 19
Farmers returning again this summer are: Alstede Farms (USDA certified organic grower), E&R Organic (USDA certified organic grower), Ort Farms and Vacchiano Farms. Specialty vendors returning again this summer are: Dr. Pickle, Gina’s Bakery, Hoboken Farms and Paolo’s Kitchen. Guest chefs from many wonderful restaurants in town will host tastings at the market throughout the summer. Also featured is a variety of fresh fruits, vegetables, baked goods, eggs, meat, frozen entrees, pickled products, herbs, honey and jams.    

Montclair Farmers Market

Newark:  The Commons at Washington Park Farmers Market

Variety of fruits and vegetables, teas, juice, candles, soaps, spices, baked goods, jewelry, nuts and candy. This is a seasonal open air market featuring desserts, arts and crafts, community organization booths, live entertainment, and food vendors. 

Newark: The University Hospital Auxiliarys Farmers Market

Tuesdays, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. June 5-Oct. 20
Variety of seasonal fruits and vegetables.

Newark: NDD Farmers Market
PSE&G Plaza, 80 Park Place (corner of Raymond Blvd. & Park Place)
Thursdays, 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. June 7 through mid-November  
The market includes live music, NJ farms, kettle korn, Down to the Bone BBQ, Gourmet Nuts & Fruits, Boime Antipasto and more added throughout the season. 

Nutley Farmers Market
