Verona Juniors Introduce New Members
Five new members joined the Junior Women's Club of Verona, bringing the total to 32 members as of December 2012.
The Junior Women's Club of Verona inducted five new members into its organization this month.
The five newest members, Teresa Nolan, Kim Carroll, Claudia O’Brien, Dawn Jenks, Carrie Naulty joined the Club's existing 27 members at a special event held at the Essex Fells Country Club on Wednesday, Dec. 5.
The Verona Juniors have been around since 1926 and “address Verona's diverse needs by promoting education, preserving natural resources, encouraging healthy lifestyles, working on behalf of the elderly and people with disabilities, supporting participation in the arts and advocating for issues of concern to women, children and families,” the Juniors said in a written statement.
The Verona Juniors remain active in the community and are currently running an Adopt-A-Family program where residents can anonymously donate toys to local needy children.
The Juniors also remind residents that the deadline is quickly approaching to mail in letters to Santa. They will ensure that Santa responds to his letters as long as they are mailed no later than Dec. 15.
The Junior Women's Club of Verona is always looking for new members. Anyone interested in learning more about the organization can email firstname.lastname@example.org.
Prospective members also are welcome at business meetings, which are held the second Wednesday of each month (except April, July, August and December) at 8 p.m. in the Verona Community Center, the Verona Juniors said.
“I just love what we do for the community and how much we can give back,” said Verona Junior, Carli Crinion. “Its great network of women with a lot of great opportunities in the group.”
