Verona Chef Dishing Out Culinary Therapy in Cedar Grove

Special program to be held Jan. 11.

The Adult Diabetes Support Group and The Community Church of Cedar Grove are very proud to invite you to attend a special “Culinary Therapy” program presented by Chef Cardie Mortimer. Chef Cardie, of Verona, has been a professionally trained culinary chef for over 30 years in addition to having been a professional actor, comedian, producer, director, teacher and former executive for the Walt Disney Company. This multitalented gentleman and his team bring an educational and “feel good” program that will keep you entertained, laughing and learning about the benefits of a meal that is high fiber, low calorie, low carbohydrate AND delicious!  All who are present will have the enjoyment of seeing this menu prepared and will also receive a tasting sample and recipes.

According to Chef Cardie, the primary objective of “Culinary Therapy” is to leave all participants with a sense of inner happiness, peace and contentment.  He has been bringing his program to various facilities in New Jersey since 2010.  It was after a particularly difficult and painful surgery and recuperative period at his well care center, that Chef Cardie decided that he would like to prepare a personal “thank you” luncheon for the staff.  The event was so well received, he was asked to consider returning and present a similar program for all of the residents.  It was at that time that Cardie began to consider the potential of what he called “culinary therapy”.  Since that time, he has performed and entertained in front of hundreds of residents and patients of facilities around the state.  His programs are enlightening, funny and carry the important message about enjoying life and living every day to the fullest. Please visit www.CardieCooks.com for more interesting information on Chef Cardie.

We hope that you will take advantage of this entertaining and educational opportunity.
