A small, but boisterous crowd of children and families enjoyed two outdoor puppet shows last Saturday at Essex County’s Kip’s Castle Park.

The free performances, sponsored by Essex County and County Executive Joseph N. DiVincenzo Jr., were held Saturday afternoon at the park.

The first show, “Puppet Jamz,” began at 2 p.m. and was followed by “Funny Farm” at 3 p.m.

“We are always looking for innovative programs that are fun and educational for our youth as well as new opportunities for the public to experience our historic Essex County Park System. We invite families and their young children to attend our puppet shows at Kip’s Castle Park for an enjoyable afternoon activity,” DiVincenzo said in a statement.
