Old Tires Bring New Life to Budd's Auto Body's Landscaping

Cedar Grove business shares ingenious idea for the garden.

Roberta Ferrara found a clever way to make her business look as cheerful as her personality.

This spring, Ferrara, owner of Budd’s Auto Body in Cedar Grove, repurposed a dozen old tires into a rainbow of planters used outside her Pompton Avenue shop.

She said she plants gardens every year, but this year had a little extra inspiration.

“I saw it somewhere and I thought, what a way to recycle,” Ferrara said. “I went online to find out how to prep tires for paint.”

The tires painted bright pink, green and orange are simply placed on the soil and beautifully accent the annuals placed inside.
