Kinderfest Rocks Our Lady of the Lake

Annual festival benefits Our Lady of the Lake Parish in Verona.

More than 1,000 people attended Kinderfest this weekenda festival featuring live bands, food, games and arts & crafts.

The event, which was held on Friday, Oct. 7, is an annual benefit for Our Lady of the Lake in Verona. All of the festivities took place under two immense tents on the Montrose Avenue parking lot.

Music Together of Verona, a musical program for toddlers and preschoolers, entertained the children, while four local high school bands – Fusion, Feedback, The Loop and Leo’s Arrow – performed music from several different genres for the adults. In addition, strolling entertainers also performed throughout the event.

Eight Hills Caterers of Verona, Frank Anthony’s of Verona and Verona Pizzeria provided the food. Ice cream was also available courtesy of the The Towne Scoop truck.

Guests were also treated to carnival games -- including a dunk tank, a joust, a moon bounce and an 18-foot rock-climbing wall.

Proceeds from the event benefited the children and youth of Our Lady of the Lake, including OLL School, a 2011 National Blue Ribbon School Award winner.
