Foot Spa & Tea Bar Marks Successful Year

Foot reflexology brings comfort to new and returning customer base.

During this past year, as stress of everyday life continued to pile up, clients of the Foot Spa & Tea Bar realized just how grateful they were to owner Sharon Saint Amand.

It was a year ago this month the business opened and Saint Amand has only good things to say about the past year, saying, “We have done very well for a new business in such a strained economic climate. I think people are realizing the therapeutic benefits of every visit.”

Saint Amand explained foot reflexology, an ancient therapy originating in China, and the Far East, has been practiced for almost 3,000 years. Like acupuncture and acupressure, modern medicine has come to accept the healing benefits of these practices.

It is more than just a foot massage as its therapeutic effects are numerous. Through much research and analysis, foot massage reflexology treatments have been shown to add relief to conditions such as: sleep disorders, hormonal imbalances, arthritis, back pain, migraines, digestive disorders, blood pressure, stress-related conditions and even congestion.

“I can tell it’s working just from my repeat customers, Saint Amand said. Although the business accepts walk in customers, Thursday through Saturday is almost too busy to accommodate them.

That’s not to say you can’t book the morning before. Our male client base has grown to 30 to 40 percent as well," she said, "People are getting relief and they are coming back.”
