Verona Police: Fairfield Man Provided False ID
Alfred Montone, 27, of Fairfield was issued several summonses after Bloomfield Avenue traffic stop.
A Fairfield man was issued several summonses and his car was impounded after a traffic stop on Bloomfield Avenue on Dec. 13, Verona police said.
Police stopped Alfred Montone, 27, at 4:08 p.m. after officers said he made an illegal U-turn while driving a car with a flat tire and both side-view mirrors missing.
Montone was ticketed for driving without a license, driving an unsafe motor vehicle and making an illegal U-turn, police said. The car was then impounded.
After Montone left, police determined he had given them false identification and he had a outstanding warrant from the Bergen County Sheriff’s Department.
Additional summonses for providing false identification and hindering apprehension were mailed to Montone’s last-known address in Fairfield, police said.
