The Brookdale Avenue third grade Brownie Troop 22736 spent the past week collecting items for Hurricane Sandy victims on Staten Island.

“At their last meeting, the Troop took advantage of the Thanksgiving holiday to talk about the importance of giving back to a community in need,” members said.

The ten girls, along with troop leaders Kelli Strlekar, Eileen Haughney and Jen Hogan, collected cleaning products, toiletries, baby products and school supplies.

The donated items will be delivered to St. Clare's Church in Staten Island on Friday, November 16.
