At its General Meeting at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 27, the Cedar Grove Historical Society will feature "Letters Home: A Day in the Life of a Civil War Soldier" at the Cedar Grove Public Library, 1 Municipal Plaza.

Actor and Civil War re-enactor Mark Simmons will give this unique and humorous one-man presentation which captures the essence of the life and times of a Union soldier during the American Civil War. Authentic uniform, gear, and artifacts combined with a dramatic first-person characterization make "Letters Home" a memorable and poignant experience for all ages.

Audience members will have the chance to explore the display items and interact with the actor. Come learn what it was like to live, eat, fight, and pass the hours as a Union Soldier. This is a free presentation and is open to all.
